Brrr! Someone told me that the past couple of days have been Brisbane’s coldest in several years, and I can certainly believe it. It’s been positively icy!

It’s great weather for knitting and crocheting though and we have been struggling to keep the yarn on our shelves. It is flying out the door faster than we can order it.

We’ll be extra happy to see some more of our yarn orders arrive next week.

Ball Winders & Swifts

After a small hiatus, we finally have our Royal ball winders back in stock.

We’ve also received a shipment of timber tabletop swifts. Beautifully crafted from birch, these swifts can be freestanding or clamped to a table, and will make light work of winding your skeins into centre pull balls.

Brown Sheep

Late today we received our long awaited top-up of Cotton Fleece, included the very popular and previously back ordered neutrals like Cotton Ball and Putty.

Cotton Fleece is always a favourite at Tangled Yarns. Not only is it a fabulous yarn for blankets, cushion covers and other homewares, but the combination of soft cotton with wool also makes it a great choice for children’s garments and transeasonal tops and accessories.

Our resident speed knitter, Maureen has finished two lovely shawls this week: White Dwarf in our supersoft MillaMia

… and the delicately beautiful Afternoon Tea by Helen Stewart.

Another of our lovely customers, Robyn, brought in her BlueSand Cardigan, knitted in three beautifully coordinating shades of our versatile Cotton Fleece.

It is her first adult garment, and she is justifiably proud of it.

Inspired by the launch of Loani Prior’s new tea cosy book last week, and with her mum’s birthday looming, Anita enlisted the help of her two kids and our handy pompom maker to create the Purple Pompom Teapot Monster – otherwise known as
Party Girl Tea Cosy by Loani Prior.

Having spotted Fiorella in last week’s newsletter, Anita grabbed her hook and a couple of gorgeous skeins of our Organik and whipped one up for herself.

As for me, not a productive week…I finished the i-cord ties on the Alfalfa Baby Hat that I shared in last week’s newsletter, and mailed it off to the gorgeous little recipient.
