It may be steamy outside, but here at Tangled Yarns we’re starting to plan for the colder months with our first shipments of autumn and winter yarns.

We have heaps planned for the coming months including some new brands, new lines and lots of our existing favourites.

Team TY
The Ravellenics are well underway and out team is knitting and crocheting madly!

A few of us have crossed the finish line already, and the rest of us are knitting and crocheting madly, hoping to finish our Games projects by the end of the closing ceremony (or 5.59am on Monday 24 February AEST).

We received an exciting shipment of Noro this week, chock-full of old favourites, new colourways, and a small taste of a very special new yarn…

We’re thrilled to be stocking the luscious Shiro, a blend of cashmere, wool and silk in the fabulous Noro colourways.

Tangled Yarns Mood Scarf

We often hear that we are the
happy place for many – you know, that place you go when you are having an average day, knowing you will always walk away feeling better.

We frequently joke about it, but we do like to think that a little time with your needles or hooks is a great form of yarn therapy.

With this in mind and with the help of a lovely customer, Rachel, we have developed our Tangled Yarns Mood Scarf!

We have grouped colour collections together and given them a theme, for example –

The zig and the zag of a chevron pattern combined with the stripes created by the shifting colours will reflect the ever changing lives of our staff and customers.

We welcome everyone who pops in for a visit to take a moment to sit and knit a few rows of our scarf, especially on those rare occasions when you realise you don’t have a project with you or it is simply too tricky to work on the project you have brought while chatting.

On the Needles at Tangled Yarns

Colour seems to be a recurring theme in our On the Needles segment this week!

Anita used a non-traditional colour combination in our Cascade 220 Superwash Sport to whip up a hat and booties set for a new bub – the quirky Lovebug Booties and a stripey hat in the same colours from my own Little Set of Stripes.

With a pop of bright colour against a neutral body, Rachel added a graphic modern feel to the basic silhouette of Summer Carnival, once again in our Cascade Ultra Pima Fine.

Julia is making the most of the remaining scorching days of summer with her beautiful Sophia, knitted in our Cascade Ultra Pima. Such a great colour!

We were intrigued by the unusual construction of Maureen’s Cria, knitted in a gorgeous autumnal shade of our Jo Sharp Alpaca Silk Georgette. And look at those buttons!

Highlighting the natural beauty of Eco Wool’s muted tones, Maureen’s cosy Common Ground will be ideal to throw on when those chilly westerlies hit Brisbane!

Maureen chose a soft tweedy blue shade of Jo Sharp Silkroad DK Tweed for her Memoirs hat, which beautifully complements the highly textured pattern.
