We have been a little quiet on our Facebook page this week….we have been almost literally drowning under the deliveries that have been arriving thick and fast!

At the moment my mornings seem to start with a large coffee while I check the tracking on all our incoming shipments. I love watching as our orders make their way to us.

There are still a few shipments outstanding that I had hoped would arrive this week but with the volume of new goodies already here it is probably best we pace ourselves.

It is certainly an exciting start to the new season.

Settle in and enjoy…..we have lots to share!

Simply Crochet

This month’s issue of Simply Crochet, Issue 9 has just arrived!

This issue we’re soaking up the summer sun and crocheting until it gets dark. There are 33 fun projects inside and lots of crafty treats, too. Navia’s cute and quirky jumper worked in scrumptious Faroese wool is the perfect light layer to throw in your suitcase – it’s on trend and great for layering.

Summer’s not summer unless you’ve spent time threading a dozen daisies into a chain. We’ve captured these dainty blooms with six sweet daisy projects, including a pretty picture frame and a statement ring.

A bit of colour therapy is perfect for lazy crafternoons, so there’s a length of bright, sunburst bunting to make, a granny square chair to sink into and a pretty pink blanket for picnic time.

We’ve also got heaps of ideas for hooking statement wall art, including cute owls, a sunflower canvas, floral hoops hung en masse and a bold wall hanging made of circles.

Need inspiration for making? We chat to crafty designer Ros Badger all about her new book and what inspires her crochet.

Finally, we’re getting thrifty and make do and mending our ways with clever elbow patches and a Bavarian crochet make (this textured stitch pattern is just the thing for stash busting).

Plus, don’t miss our guide to half trebles, new season yarns and the coolest e-reader case.

Spring into Summer

On The Needles at Tangled Yarns

One of our lovely regulars, Terri, delighted us last Saturday with her African flower owl pillow, crocheted from
Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in refreshing tones of blue and green.

We think Maggie the owl is filled with personality, and will be a cheerful addition to Terri’s sofa.

In fact, Anita might already have started considering colours for an owl-y friend of her own…

Maggie the African Flower Owl Pillow

Last week, we highlighted the gorgeous needle jar that our prolific crocheter, Rachel, had finished. She’s continued her quest to “cover all the things” this week, with a range of crocheted Mason jars. These are destined to be filled with all sorts of goodies for her kids’ teachers.

Mason Jar Cosies

These striking coasters, which Rachel crocheted in coordinating shades of Fibre Company Organik, also caught our attention.

Porthole Square

Rachel was also taken with our newBerroco Linsey and whipped up a quick doily to use as an embellishment.

Crowns Surround

Another of our customers who we can always count on for inspiration is Maureen, who once again has some beautiful finished projects to share this week.

Using Noro Silk Garden and Cascade 220 Worsted in a mix of blues, Maureen finished

Turn a Square

It’s a rare treat to see one of our designs knitted up in exactly the same colours as we used for the sample, but one that I enjoyed this week when Maureen brought in her Missoni-inspired baby blanket.

Now I want to get hers together with mine for a photo shoot!!

Finally, this beautiful cowl shows off the autumnal glory of Crazy Zauberball in the Parrot colourway.

September Circle

The amazing Zauberball colours were also an inspiration for Carmen, who used Zauberball 100 in a mix of reds and pinks for this crescent-shaped scarf.

TGV (High Speed Knitting)

Inspired by the warmer weather and our new shipment of Berroco Linsey, Anita whipped up a chic summer vest. With its simple lines, neutral hue and gorgeous drape, we can see it topping a variety of summer outfits from linen pants to pretty dresses.
