On Wednesday we had a huge day in the store, we may have been closed for the public holiday but we were certainly flat out!

I am so lucky that many of my wonderful staff came in to help as we rearranged, built several additional shelves and started to make room for our incoming new season yarns.

This was a quick snap at the start of the day, we had literally every flat surface covered with colourful piles.

We have loads of lovely colours including 13 colours in Pashmina, 12 colours in Tosh Merino Light and 6 colours in Tosh Lace.

Sadly as the turn around times have pushed out to anywhere from 4 – 6 months, I have decided that this will be my last order from madelinetosh.

I feel my customers deserve a more reliable, consistent and timely service. As beautiful as the bases & colours are, there is no shortage of luscious yarns out there.

Many of our recent additions to Tangled Yarns and a few new goodies I have in the works will more than fill the gap.

Simply Crochet

tangledYARNS

The latest issue of Simply Crochet – Issue 8 has arrived this week.

It is packed with adorable patterns with a ‘romantic vintage’ spin, including a must have clutch bag, the cutest dress for sunny days and sweet kitchen accessories.

Mollie Makes

New from Mollie Makes, Issue 30!

tangledYARNS

This latest edition includes lots of great summer accessories in candy colours plus a revamp for a vest top, a crocheted lacy collar, a dip-dyed kimono and a kids bedding set.

We’re hipping-chicks this summer. Time for dreamcatcher jewellery and stacks of bangles made from all kinds of crafts. Float about in a summery kimono, before chilling out on a crocheted cushion. Let out your inner child – just like out designer-makers – and embroider a seamonster, or needle felt a zoo. Then, when it’s time to grow up, a lacy collar is smart and just the right side of quirky for our office wardrobe.

Colourwork, dropped stitches, and diagonal graphics drive the pattern collection, while rustic and rich are the focus in yarn and product reviews. Kristin Omdahl walks us through working joined motifs, and we learn about the life and times of the yarn seer, Clara Parkes.

Brown Sheep

Another of our year round favourites would have to be our Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece but at this time of year it really comes into its own. The lightness of the 80% cotton with the softness of 20% wool, ideal for so many projects.

This is Elk Tooth by Caitlin ffrench in our Cascade Baby Alpaca Chunky.

tangledYARNS

And also off the needles is a deliciously squishy Moody Kerchief by Kirsten Kapur in our The Fibre Company Acadia.

Claudia loved this one so much that she increased it by a repeat.

tangledYARNS

The lovely Maureen has had her needles flying again and has another two beautiful projects completed.

First up we have this amazing Lillydale by Grace Anna Farrow in The Fibre Company Meadow.

tangledYARNS

I can certainly see this becoming a firm favourite during spring!

And all girly with the ruffled lace on the edge, a Vintage Bouquet by Dani Sunshine in Ella Rae Lace Merino.

My love for stripes kicks into overdrive when I see this, the colour combos are almost endless.

tangledYARNS

Our wonderful Liz was extremely happy to see our shipment of Noro Taiyo Lace and almost immediately cast on. This is a cowl she designed to showcase the stunning colour changes.

tangledYARNS

For a little babe due next week, Liz selected this scrumptious selection of colour from our Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece and whipped up a random stripe Neat Ripple Pattern by Lucy of Attic24.

tangledYARNS

This has been my ‘waiting’ knitting, school pick ups & drop offs, gymnastics, basically anywhere that I can squeeze a few rows in project.

I was after something simple and light for Spring and Cirriform by Lisa Mutch in our Ella Rae Lace Merino hit the mark.

I have been wearing it almost daily and already have plans for another.
