After a week or more of grey, wet weather I was pleasantly surprised to see the winter sun shining this morning.

I love cool crisp mornings, ideal for adding layers like a hat and scarf on my way out the door and my girls are waiting for me to whip up some little fingerless mitts for them.

A few patterns that have caught my eye this week….

Learn to Knit

Sunday 30th June, 7th July & 14th July

Our lovely Derrin has some spaces in her upcoming Thursday night Technical Support classes. Derrin is able to help you out on both knit and crochet problems – she is such a wealth of knowledge!!

Technical Support

Thursday evenings

Please note, we do have a minimum requirement of two students for Thursday night classes.

We also have a lovely group of social knitters that come in on a Thursday night, so if you’re after a bit of relaxation after a hard day at work, we have room on the couch for you! We have some delicious goodies to nibble on while you sip on a hot beverage and stitch your troubles away.

If Thursday nights aren’t convenient, we also have social groups that meet on a Wednesday morning and of course, our ever popular Saturday social day.

Whats on the Needles at Tangled Yarns

Amanda popped in for a quick visit on the Monday public holiday with two wonderful finished cowls.

The pattern is Turbulence Cowl by Laura Chau.

This one is using our Noro Taiyo and our Cascade 220 Worsted.

The second one is using our Noro Silk Garden and our Cascade 220 Worsted.

During the week, Rachel came in with a bundle of goodies she’s been working on in the last few weeks for some Show and Share.

Firstly, two lovely warm hats knitted especially for her husband.

Windschief by Stephen West in our Berroco Ultra Alpaca

Masculine & Feminine by Lindsay Potter in our Berroco Ultra Alpaca

These two patterns are such classic hats for men, but with a modern twist – very popular!

And a snuggly cowl for her mum – Pei by Michele Wang in our Fibre Company Acadia. I love how the colour contrasts between the solid and the lace parts.

And of course, after all those gifts, Rachel couldn’t go past something for herself… the
Lovely Leaf Lace Scarf by Purl Soho in our Fibre Company Organik.

Kim has created some beautiful Mini Mitts by Jessi Koontz in our Cascade 220 Superwash and Malabrigo Rios for two of her grandchildren. How cute are these??

Inspired by the stunning Dory by Lisa Gutierrez created by Rachel last week I couldn’t help whipping up my own take with our Cascade Ultra Pima.

I love Lisa’s patterns, last year I made both Anya and Glory and I am very tempted to start Willow.
