Weekend Wrap-Up

My goodness! What a busy weekend!!
We were so busy that I didn’t have a spare moment to share our usual fun via our Facebook Page so I decided that I would give you a quick weekend wrap-up.

I hit the ground running on Saturday morning with a couple of lovely customers patiently waiting on the doorstep
when I opened and things didn’t slow down from there.
Over the weekend we announced some exciting news…we have a brand new Tangled Yarns baker!

The wonderful Jodie delivered a fresh batch of tasty goodies for all our hungry weekend knitters & crocheters.

{on the menu}

Bacon, Leek and Cheddar Muffins
Passionfruit and Lime Slice
Orange and Almond Cake (GF)
Chocolate, Raspberry and Ricotta Cake

food      The Passionfruit and Lime Slice in particular was a MASSIVE hit and didn’t last long and the savory option
went down a treat for those that stayed over lunch.
{I must say, I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t a piece of the Passionfruit and Lime slice left for my morning tea today}

Jodie will be delivering a wonderful selection of fresh baking several times a week, I can’t wait to see what is on the menu next!

We had a constant flow of shoppers popping in to pick up supplies and our regular Tech Support session with Anita in the morning.

The afternoon brought Week 2 of our Current Learn to Crochet course with our students moving on from the basic stitches and learning to mix it up.

Many of our regulars popped in for some social time on the lounges.social

Recently I was asked to share more about what our knitters and crocheters are working on while they sit amongst the colour in store. It seems plenty of you are keen for more after seeing the photos we often post on Facebook.

As I made a quick whip around the lounge area Saturday afternoon with my camera I was met with lots of smiles and
everyone was excited to share their current WIP .

roslynRosyln was working on Sundry by Jennifer Dassau in our Malabrigo Sock {Archangel & Orche}.
{we are patiently awaiting our next shipment from Malabrigo….keep an eye out in our Friday eNewsletters for its arrival}

She also couldn’t resist grabbing a skein of our new Ella Rae Lace Merino {#102 Primaries}, she isn’t sure what it will become yet but she is already thinking about lots of options! {hehee I love the yarn ‘thought bubble’}

Leo was busy working Les Miserables by Cynthia Parker in our Malabrigo Silkpaca and if you look closely she is wearing a stunning scarf in our Noro Taiyo Sock {# 01}. The motif she used to create her scarf is the Crochet Japanese Flower by Grace Ann.

Carmen was working away on Zephyr Cove by Romi Hill in our Ella Rae Lace Merino {Cream & she will be adding in Teal Demin as her second colour}.

gabsuzGabrielle arrived wearing a stunning Gaptastic Cowl by Jen Geigley in our Malabrigo Rasta {Baya Electica}, her WIP was a Featherweight Cardigan by Hannah Fettig in our Ella Rae Lace Merino {Maroon & Grey}.

Suzanne was concentrating hard and counting as she cast on a Colour Affection by Veera Valimaki in our Malabrigo Sock {Terracotta}, I can’t wait to see the other two colours!

Christine was working on the super cute Chuck by Andi Satterlund in our Cascade 220 Worsted.

The very dedicated and amazing mum Kimley was stitching away on her fourth Ten Stitch Blanket by Frankie Brown in our Noro Taiyo, making it one for each of her wonderful boys.

Sadly plenty of social knitters & crocheters slipped through without me getting a chance to catch up with them and what they were working on but I will endeavor to continue sharing snippets of the Works in Progress from our lounges each week in a bit of a Weekend Wrap-Up.

Sunday was another busy day with Week One of Learn To Crochet for a full to the brim class of keen students learning to hook away.

This morning I slowly made my way through the piles and piles of online orders from the weekend, wrapping & packing lots of lovely fat parcels of goodies that are all now winging their way to new homes.

I hope you all had a wonderful, yarn filled weekend!
