Brrr……it seems Autumn has finally decided to make a real appearance, the past few days have been super chilly!

My girls have very quickly put in their requests for winter hats.
I have a few different patterns in mind and look forward to sharing some finished projects in the coming weeks.

More of our lovely Autumn & Winter yarns have arrived this week,
along with some great reading material for the weekend.

Another top up shipment from Berroco arrived today with new stock of our most popular colours in our Ultra Alpaca and Ultra Alpaca Light.

I have several plans for both of these yarns this season…now just to get the time to get them on the needles.

Whats on the Needles at Tangled Yarns

Derrin has two finished cowls to share with us this week, both featuring some of our lovely Jo Sharp Tweed!

First up we have Rathmore by Irishgirlieknits in our Jo Sharp Silkroad DK Tweed (Peppercorn)
and Alpaca Kid Lustre.

I just love the pink and gray combination!

We no longer carry the Alpaca Kid Lustre, but a great substitute would be our Berroco Ultra Alpaca Light.

Next we have a Turbulance Cowl by Laura Chau Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran Tweed (Posie and Beach).

Derrin loved making this – it was a fun, quick project!

She wasn’t able to squeeze it out of one ball of each colour, and needed to crack into the second ball of Posie and Beach for the cast off.

We have some very exciting news to share with you all this week…..
we are expecting a little Tangled Yarns baby!

Our lovely Lauren and her wonderful husband Tam are expecting a little bundle of joy later this year.

Being able to knit for her own little one, Lauren has had lots of fun picking out yarn and pattern combinations.

The first off her needles is a Newborn Vertebrae by Kelly Brooker in our Malabrigo Sock (Indiecita) to keep bub’s back warm (and avoid getting the front of the cardigan messy!)

And then, a little Milo vest by Georgie Hallam in Jo Sharp Silkroad DK Tweed (Treasure).

This took less than a ball for the newborn size.
How cute is that little cable running up the side? !

Expect to see lots of teeny, tiny knits in our ‘What’s on the needles’ in the coming months!

I was running a little behind with my Mothers Day gifts so both of these were a tad belated….

As soon as I saw Pei by Michele Wang I knew it would be perfect for my mum.

Because I like to tinker with patterns and I love stripes I have used
two colours of our Fibre Company Acadia – Sea Lavender and Egret.

For my mum-in-law I selected a great colourway from our Noro Taiyo collection – colour 29.

The pattern is Modern Lace by Lion Brand.

I loved making this scarf so much that I had to make myself one in our Cascade Baby Alpaca Chunky.

Two skeins in colour 559 – Ice Flower and an evening produced a super quick, squishy and warm scarf!

After some more instant gratification, a splash of colour and a way to tame my hair I grabbed a ball of our Noro Taiyo and made a colourful headband.

The pattern, Unisex Dread Wrap Headband by Mama Pacha was quick and simple – exactly what I was after.
