Tangled Handmade

Over the past almost 4 years we have fielded requests almost daily to purchase
our adorable little knitted & crocheted items in store.

Each time I explain that the ‘sample’ garments are actually my children’s clothes
from when they were babies so they have way too much sentimental value.

We are also very careful to explain that the patterns are licensed by the designers
and therefore it would be against copy-write to sell the finished garments without permission.

However I do understand that many know how to knit but not crochet and vice versa, and that time can sometimes be against us…and we certainly embrace the giving handmade!!

So with this in mind I am excited to announce a new edition to the Tangled Yarns family…..

We have been busy working closely together with a some wonderful designers who have given Tangled Yarns permission to pass on the Handmade love with our finished products.

Our own Tangled Yarns designs will also feature in our Tangled Handmade goodies.

Many of you may recall seeing some adorable little blankets that Alice was working on towards the end of last year. One of the first designers on our list was of course the amazingly talented Lucy from Attic 24.

Over the coming weeks we will add to our collection of items for Tangled Handmade, revealing the designs that will be lovingly made by the Tangled Yarns team.

Designs will include baby cardigans, booties and hats, blankets, bunting plus a few extra little surprises along the way.

As each item is unique, Tangled Handmade items will only be available in store for the time being. But as always, if you see something that we share in our newsletter or our Facebook page please feel free to contact us and we will see what we can do.

I hope you love Tangled Handmade as much as we do!

Whats on the Needles at Tangled Yarns

Our customer, Liz popped in to visit the other day and told me of her latest project plans.

This week it has all come together and I simply couldn’t wait to share it with you!

This is a thrifted disco light with an amazing transformation….

Liz removed all the ‘disco bling’ and replaced it with African Flower hexagons in our Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece.

Now the only question is where can I find a light of my own!?

Derrin has whipped up a stunning splash of colour in our Cascade Ultra Pima Quatro.

This is Sweet November Knit Shawl by Caryl Pierre.

It has been some time since I last knit socks but I couldn’t resist making these ones for my mum.

I have used two lone skeins of Tosh Sock (Molly Ringwald & Smoke Stock) and the pattern is LoveSocks by Devon Clement.

I love the quirky twist of alternating the main colour and contrast colour on each sock and the super sweet heart on each heel.

The only modification that I made was to make the ribbed cuff a twisted rib.

Sadly the majority of our Tosh Sock has flown out the door but some of the new colours I just added to our Heritage Sock would be ideal if you are keen to make your own pair of Love Socks!

Australia Day Long Weekend

Tangled Yarns will be open Saturday 26
th and Sunday 27th January over the long weekend.

We will be closed on the public holiday Monday 28th January.

As always our online store will remain open and all online orders will be processed and shipped when we return on Tuesday.
