It has been a busy week here at Tangled Yarns, our classes, social knitters and shoppers have been keeping us busy plus several large shipments have arrived.

We have just added over 1200 skeins to the shop and there is plenty more on the way. Our summer yarns are still proving to be extremely popular so we will continue to carry them while the demand is there, although we are having some space issues trying to fit it all in!!

I have also been busy finalising some exciting orders, the first of our Autumn yarns will be winging their way to us very soon.

It has been wonderful to see so many of our much loved regulars back in-store and at our classes for the new year plus so many new faces joining us both online and in-store!

KnitPro

This week along with a top up of our most popular KnitPro needles and accessories have added yet another new product to our store this week….Karbonz!

tangledYARNS

Karbonz – the epitome of innovation & perfection!!

One of the most revolutionary needles of our times that combine the premium quality of carbon fibre with perfectly shaped nickel plated brass tips.

We often get requests for straight needles in the finer sizes. In timber or bamboo the possibility of snapping your needles is extremely high.

Carbon Fibre is one of the most versatile materials used in modern times for use in aircrafts and is ideal for knitting needles on account of it’s high tensile strength, light weight and comes with a surface that offers excellent control over the stitches. This union of two revolutionary materials is guaranteed to provide an unparalleled knitting experience.

These gorgeous needles are available from 2.0mm – 3.5mm.

Classes

We are in for a big weekend with three different classes across the two days! On Saturday we have a Tech Support (Knit & Crochet) in the morning followed by a Crochet / Felted Hexagon class in the afternoon.

Sunday we will have our second and extremely popular Entrelac Class!

tangledYARNS

If you have missed out on these classes we have a couple of spots left in the final Crochet / Felted Hexagon and Entrelac Classes for January.

All of the dates are available on our Calendar.

Sock season is almost here and to start off on the right foot (excuse the pun) we have scheduled two different sock classes, Top Down & Toe Up.

Our Top Down course is already fully booked but we do have a couple of spaces left in the toe up course.

During our Toe Up Socks course you will learn how to knit a pair of ribbed socks,
from the toe up!

The benefit of this method is that if you are knitting larger sized socks or have ‘just enough’ yarn you can knit the leg length your yarn allows.

No running out of yarn half way through your toe!

Cost

$75.00 per person
(3 week course)

plus supplies
(available to purchase in store)

Requirements

Please note that this is an intermediate course.

Prior knowledge of how to knit in the round comfortably is required.
(Double Point Needles, Magic Loop or Two Circular methods)

Supplies

100g of fingering weight / 4ply yarn
we suggest our Cascade Heritage Sock
(smooth, no novelty as you need to see your stitches)

2.50mm or 2.75mm needles
(Double Point Needles, Magic Loop or Two Circulars)

wool darning needle
scissors

The year is already flying by and we are busy planning our April & May classes. If there is anything you would like to see on our class schedule drop us a line.

Bookings and deposits are essential for all of our classes.

Please phone the store on 07 3666 0276 or email us tangled@tangledyarns.com.auif you have any further questions on our classes or to book in!

Whats on the Needles at Tangled Yarns

Our wonderful customer Maureen popped in with some beautiful finished projects to share with use this week.

First up is Esjan by Stephen West in our Berroco Ultra Alpaca.

This is just amazingly sock and squishy!

In spectacular summer colours, a Hitchhiker by Martina Behm in our
Noro Taiyo Sock and Cascade Heritage Silk.

This certainly adds a happy splash of colour to Maureen’s wardrobe!

This week I finished off another adorable little Sweet Penny by Cathy Rubin for my little one.

She picked the colour from our Cascade Ultra Pima collection…# 3748 Buttercup.

tangledYARNS

Another Ultra Pima project off the needles for me this week, this time in our Ultra Pima Fine.

I started a second Drifting by Cecily Glowik MacDonald just before the holidays as I love my first one so much!

Second time around the pattern was still a delight to knit and the colour (#3720-Sage) goes well with several of my summer dresses.

Ideal for in the air-con or those cooler evenings.
