Once again it is Friday and we are busy preparing for another big weekend in store.

Our talented instructors have been kept busy all week with a variety of classes.

Anita has had lovely full Technical Support lessons Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday plus another tomorrow.

Derrin will have a fresh new batch of keen students for this months Learn To Crochet.

Last night Derrin had a wonderful group of crocheters for the final week of our Intermediate Crochet – I can’t wait to see all of the finished Market Bags.

They would make great gifts and with our ever expanding colour range of Cascade Ultra Pima there is a colour for everyone on your gift list!

Speaking of gift lists…are you after some more ideas for quick knits to give?

X x X Anniversary Tea Cosy by Churchmouse Yarns (knit) in our Jo Sharp Silkroad DK Tweed would be great for any tea lover.

Brighten up someones day (and kitchen!) with some Modern Vintage Potholders by Maryse Roudier (crochet) in our Debbie Bliss Eco Aran Cotton.

An apple for the teacher? Adorable Apple Cozy by Theresa Grant (crochet) or Apple Cozy (knit) by Linda Dawkins in our Debbie Bliss Eco Aran Cotton

Rosie Headband by Jane Richmond (knit) in our Cascade Ultra Pima Fine would be adorable for little girls (and big girls!!) gifts.

Don’t forget for as always we have our Tangled Yarns Wish List & Gift Vouchers available to make it easier for your loved ones to shop for you this Christmas!!

Our regular shipment from Cascade arrived earlier this week, boxes bursting with colour as always.

We have added some luscious new colours to our Ultra Pima collection – we now have a massive 55 colours to choose from plus 34 colours in the Ultra Pima Fine!!

I have also added a selection of Ultra Pima Quatro for those of you who like to mix it up.

Stock of our Heritage Silk has also hit the shelves. This is such a versatile yarn, ideal for the warmer season.

Biggan Design

There has also been a top up of Biggan Design, both in the 4ply / fingering weight and 8ply / DK weight.

With the amazing colour range we have had customers making a beeline straight to our Biggan Design yarns for all the festive knitting.

So far we have seen everything from seasonal bunting (Knitted Bunting Flags by Green Mountain Mama) to striped stockings! (Christmas Stockings with Stripes by Erssie (knit))

After some handmade happiness for your tree this year? Why not try out Knitted Paper Chains in your colour theme….

Brown Sheep

A lovely new shipment of our super popular Brown Sheep yarns has just arrived.

We have new stock of both the Cotton Fleece and Cotton Fine.

A couple of our most popular colours were back ordered, fingers crossed they will be on the way any day now.

A new round of our
Learn to Knit Continental starts in early November.

Our Learn to Knit Continental classes are aimed at students who already know how to knit the English method (with the yarn held in the right hand) and would like to learn how to knit the Continental method (with the yarn held in the left hand).

Most knitters find that with practice this speeds up their knitting time greatly, especially for long stretches of stockinette stitch or for moss / ribbing.

During the two classes you will learn one method of the knit stitch and two different methods of the purl stitch plus how to combine the two.

$50.00 per person (2 week course) plus supplies

Saturday 10th & 17th November
1pm – 3pm

Please note that this is an intermediate course.

Prior knowledge of how to knit and purl, increase and decrease comfortably

Approximately 50g of DK / 8ply yarn
(smooth, no novelty as you need to see your stitches)
4mm needles

Don’t forget we have our regular
Technical Support sessions four times a week for all of your knitting help.

Tuesday 12noon – 2pm

Wednesday 10am – 12noon

Thursday 10am – 12noon

Saturday 10am – 12noon

Whats On the Needles at Tangled Yarns
We had a bumper collection of ‘Whats on the Needles’ last week and it has been wonderful to receive so much fantastic feedback from it.

It is great to hear that you all enjoy seeing the wide variety of finished projects and works in progress each week!

Another finished project from our lovely Aline. This time a Spring Garden Tee by Alana Dakos in our Cascade Ultra Pima (3713 – Wine)

Alice is simply churning out baby blankets and has yet another super sweet Neat Ripple by Lucy from Attic24.

This time she has worked some repeating stripes of colours inspired by the rainbow on a neutral base.

The colours Alice used our Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in 100 – Cotton Ball, 770 – Wistera, 767 – Hawaiian Sky, 844 – Celery Leaves, 620 Banana, 865 – October Leaf and 220 – Provincial Rose.

Derrin has been enjoying her Intermediate Crochet lessons so much that she has decided to work up a second version of her Crocheted Market Bag, this time in our Debbie Bliss Eco Cotton.

We will re-release the pattern in the coming weeks with both versions – keep an eye out!

After being distracted by making several light weight summer cardi’s I decided I had better pick up a existing WIPKokomo by Melissa Simpson.

This one is for Miss 7 and she couldn’t wait for me to finish it. She simply loves the colours! (3702 – Pink Sapphire & 3775 – Cool Mint)

Straight on the needles as soon as they were free was a second one for Miss 4.

I am using our Ultra Pima Fine in 3709 – Wood Violet & 3767 – Deep Coral.

Once I have them both finished I’ll be back with some ‘action’ shots!

Valley Fiesta
Things will be buzzing in our area this weekend with Brisbane’s biggest street party, the Valley Fiesta – October 26 to 28.

There are some changes to the traffic with Brunswick street being closed between Ann Street and McLachlan Street from 6:00am Saturday 27th to 7:00am Sunday 28th.

Traffic will be detoured via Marshall Street and James Street during the event.

Inspiring your passion!
