I love this time of year!

Gorgeous sunny days with evenings still cool enough to snuggle under my favourite crocheted blanket.

The urge to cast on has been strong but I’m trying hard to finish a few more projects that are already on the needles.

I’m enjoying the gradual change over in the shop – a little spring cleaning & re-organising not to mention the ordering, receiving, unpacking and finding homes for new Spring & Summer yarns.

Another new shipment of our delicious Malabirgo yarns has just arrived!

We have new colours in Sock, Arroyo and Rios….

We have been advised by Biggan Design this week that there will be a small price increase across their yarn range.

Effective 1st September 2012 the DK / 8ply will be $10.25 and the Fingering / 4ply will be $10.95.

Order tonight to beat the price increase!

Learn to Knit Continental

Our Continental Knitting classes are aimed at students who already know how to knit the
English method (with the yarn held in the right hand) and would like to learn how to knit the Continental method (with the yarn held in the left hand).

Most knitters find that with practice this speeds up their knitting time greatly, especially for long stretches of stockinette stitch or for moss / ribbing.
During the two classes you will learn one method of the knit stitch and two different methods of the purl stitch plus how to combine the two.

13/10 & 20/10
1pm – 3pm

$50.00 per person
(2 week course) plus supplies

Please note that this is an intermediate course.

Prior knowledge of how to knit and purl, increase and decrease comfortably

Approximately 50 g wool yarn
(smooth, no novelty as you need to see your stitches)

4mm needles.

Bookings and deposits are essential for all of our classes.

Please phone the store on 07 3666 0276 or email us tangled@tangledyarns.com.auif you have any further questions on our classes or to book in!

Whats On the Needles at Tangled Yarns

Our wonderful Alice popped in this morning with a little ‘show & share’!

This is an amazing wedding gift for her friend.

The ripple stitch is based on the Neat Ripple Pattern from Lucy of Attic24 and the yarn our Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece (345 – Gold Dust & 100 – Putty).

Alice has done a fantastic job of sewing the crochet piece together with a fabric back and finishing it off with some sweet buttons and a little ‘handmade’ tag.

I think this is enough inspiration to get me started on my ripple cushion for my bed!

Kim has been busy with her blankets again!

This delightful stack is all of her squares finished, ends weaved in, blocked and ready to be put together.

The pattern is Mitred Crosses Blanket by Kay Gardiner in a mixture of our Noro Silk Garden and Cascade 220 Worsted.

I was unable to resit the lure of Windward by Keidi Kirrmaier and our Noro Sekku

My wardrobe may require a second one in these colours!

Another cast on this week has been a second Colour Affection by Veera Valimaki. I am using a mixture of our Tosh Sock, Cascade Heritage Silk & Ella Rae Lace Merino.

I’ve just hit the short rows and even second time around, I’m loving it!

Inspiring your passion!
