The days are starting to warm up and that gets us all thinking about our Spring / Summer knitting & crochet plans!
If the shops are anything to go by the new season colours are all about brights…..yellows, pinks, oranges.
I have been busy ordering new stock, new yarns & new colours. I’m looking forward to our warmer weather yarns arriving.
Some new season project planning is of course required and a few patterns that have popped up are –
Summer Rose Shawl by Kay Dahlquist (knit)
Granny Circle Placemats by Purl Soho (crochet)
Fiesta Table Mat by Linda Permann (crochet)
Simple Luxury Scarf by Anna & Heidi Pickles (knit)
Before I can cast on anything new I am madly trying to finish my winter projects.
Perhaps it is a good thing that August is providing us with some cold and windy weather to finish of the season.
We have new stock and new colours of the delightfully squishy Rasta.
Some pattern ideas…
Ovate by Tori Gurbisz (knit)
Crowl by Billie Anne Grigg (crochet)
Perpetually Persistent Cowl by Liz Abinante (knit)
On The Double by Rose Anne (crochet)
Bitty Bump by Gina Bonomo (knit)
Starflower by Eveli Kaur (knit)

|Interweave Crochet Traditions
Companion stories frame projects in their cultural or historical context.
In addition to this beautiful treasury of tradition and design, crocheters from novice to advance will love to special focus on techniques, ranging from Irish crochet and tapestry to Tunisian and filet.
This weekend we have a super busy class schedule with our regular Saturday morning Technical Support session followed by the first of our Learn to Knit Continental classes for the month.
Sunday is the launch of our latest Learn to Knit courses with a bumper class requiring two instructors with all of the eager students!
Coming up in September we have our popular Learn to Knit Socks course starting –
Sunday 9th, 16th & 23rd September
Thursday 20th, 27th September & 4th October
Socks are a great spring / summer knitting project as they are light, portable and you don’t have too much fabric sitting on you.
Bookings and deposits are essential for all of our classes.
Please phone the store on 07 3666 0276 or email email@example.com you have any further questions on our classes or to book in!
|On the Needles at Tangled Yarns|
Earlier today I had a lovely visit from our Miss Lauren and her mum.
They popped in to pick up some supplies to finish off a few projects…including this amazing Granny Squares blanket in our Noro Taiyo!
We had heaps of fun laying the squares out over a coffee, only one to go and it can be put together.
They are destined for one of her little granddaughters and I’m sure will be a huge hit!
I have washed and blocked it so it is all ready to go for their upcoming trip away.
These square shell buttons from mums stash are just perfect!
I made some mods to the pattern, mainly adding a couple of stitches to the front bands to accommodate buttons as mum wanted to be able to do the cardi up.
With this in mind I also added some shaping about an inch after separating the sleeves and some waist shaping. I also added length to the body and sleeves.
I started this towards the end of last summer before being distracted by the yummy new winter yarns.
With the new season not far away I have picked it up and finished it off this week.
|Ekka Day Public Holiday|
Tangled Yarns will be closed next Wednesday 15th August for the Ekka Public Holiday.
Our online store will of course remain open and all online orders will be processed and posted on Thursday 16th August.
