Cascade

After launching our two new Cascade lines with a massive boom we have had to re-order yet again!

New stock of the ultra soft Cascade Baby Alpaca Chunky and extra squishy Cascade 128 Superwash Chunky are on our shelves.

We have also topped up the always popular Heritage Silk, 220 Worsted and 220 Superwash Sport.

Noro

Our wall of Noro colour has certainly caused a stir…many customers have been making a beeline to the back wall the second they walk through our doors!

We have added a small top up of the most popular weights and added the pure wool Kureyon.

tangledYARNS

Pronounced coo-ray-oh-n is the Japanese pronunciation of the English “crayon;” thus, the literal name of the yarn is “crayon.”

Kureyon

100% Wool
Aran / 10ply
110 yards / 101 meters per 50g

While I much prefer Silk Garden for my garments and accessories like scarves Kureyon is ideal for home-wares and accessories like bags, plus it has the added bonus of being felt-able!

Classes

May is zooming past us and our classes are filling fast!

We have a single place left in our Learn To Crochet course that starts this Sunday (13th May) and our next Learn to Knit course starts next Saturday (19th May).

For those looking for something a little more challenging we have our Learn To Lace course in June.

Learn to Lace

Learn to Lace is a two week course where will create a sample piece of lace. The pattern you will use is the wonderful Summer Flies Mini Shawl Sampler by Donna Griffin.

Many of our students have gone on to knit the full sized version of Summer Flies as their first lace project.

In the first lesson you will form the foundation of the different stitches used in lace knitting.

The second lesson will focus on any problems you’ve had over the week with your homework and possibly begin your first shawl.

Sunday 12-2pm
10
th & 17th June

$60.00 per person (2 week course) plus supplies

Requirements – Please note that this is an intermediate course. Prior knowledge of how to cast on, knit, purl and cast off is required.

Supplies – approx 70y yards of Worsted / 10ply yarn (smooth, no novelty as you need to see your stitches), 5.00mm needles and a wool darning needle.

You can find our full class calendar on our website or click
here.

Bookings and deposits are essential for all of our classes.

Please phone the store on 07 3666 0276 or email us tangled@tangledyarns.com.au if you have any further questions on our classes or to book in!

Whats on the Needles at Tangled Yarns

With all the luscious colours of Noro in store I couldn’t help start another Granny Square Blanket.

This time I have used nine different colours of Noro Taiyo and have slipped stitched them together in the final round without a solid joining colour.

The finished size is perfect size to snuggle under on the lounge.

With the arrival of the new Eki Riva Alpaca Lace I knew that I had to cast on another Featherweight by Hannah Fettig.

It is the ultimate, easy to wear cardi and in the Alpaca Lace it is insanely soft!
