This week has been a blur of deliveries, boxes, barcodes and COLOUR!

We have had shipments arrive from so many of our suppliers
that the shop is simply overflowing with yarn!!

Knit A Long / Crochet A Long

Back by popular demand…

Our May Knit A Long / Crochet A Long is all about short rows – this seasons hottest design feature!

Short rows can make curves on straight edges or flat knitting, they can turn sock heels or toes or add shape to a garment to improve the fit.

This is accomplished by partially knitting an existing row, then turning the work and knitting back the other direction again.

There are a number of different methods of working short rows – basic short rows, wrap & turn short rows, yarn over short rows, Japanese short rows & shadow short rows.

We have some basic methods on the Tutorials page of our blog.

Some patterns that incorporate short rows into their design –
