Last weekend we had a fantastic time in-store with our Biggan Colourwork Workshop over both Saturday and Sunday.

It was wonderful to watch as the students picked up so many new techniques from the amazing Biggan Dups.

As they progressed over the two days the flowers in their Colour Me Pretty Hat by Elana Nodel grew….

Knit / Crochet A Long

This week is the first week of the school holidays in Queensland so I have had a little helper here at the shop with me.

My Miss 6 is a budding knitter and has had enough of knitting scarves. She was keen to move onto something new so we sat down and browsed through Ravelry together.

tangledYARNS

Finally we settled on a pair of leg warmers! This first pair will be for her but watch out family, she intends to knit a pair for all of us!

If you are not ready to embark of knitting a pair of socks with us for our Knit A Long / Crochet A Long this month, perhaps try a pair of leg warmers or a pair of snuggly slippers.

Colourwork Workshop
with Biggan Dupps

This weekend Biggan Dups from Biggan Design is joining us in-store for the first of our new Colourwork Workshops!

The pattern featured this year is Color Me Pretty Hat
by Elana Nodel

From Elena

‘Color Me Pretty’ hat is my third design in the series of the bright and fun Fair Isle garments that I have been making for my daughter Maya.

The colorwork is simple enough for a beginner, yet interesting enough for a seasoned knitter as well. The hat is worked entirely in the round from the bottom up.

The Fair Isle design lends itself to many possibilities of various color combinations; my version is just one of them. You can work with as little as one contrast color or with as many as you would like.

SIZES:
Small (toddler) – 18-19″
Medium (child – teen) – 20-22″
Large (adult) – 21-23″

YARDAGE:

MC: 90, 110, 140 yards;
CC: 40, 50, 60 yards;

Over the two days, you will learn how to do stranded colourwork while creating a Color Me Pretty Hat.

Participants are to purchase the Color Me Pretty Hat directly from Elena via Ravelry prior to the workshop.

Saturday 21st April & 22nd April
(Saturday 11am – 3pm, Sunday 11am – 2pm)

$170.00 per person (2 day workshop) plus supplies
