It is hard to believe that it is Friday afternoon again….the week has been a whirlwind of colour and texture with yet more Autumn yarn deliveries arriving!

I have also been pouring over shade cards making final decisions on some delightful new Winter yarns. There is sure to be a continuous flow of yarn over the next few months.

The shop has been buzzing with social knitters making the most of the start of the system.

Our bursting at the seams class calendar has certainly been keeping us on our toes.

Don’t forget our first Colourwork Workshop with Biggan Dups is at the end of this month!

After finishing my Colour Me Pretty Hat by Elena Nodel I have been itching to cast on some more colourwork and with my love of buttons I think Hendreary by Ysolda Teague (Whimsical Little Knits 3) will be ideal.

Knit / Crochet A Long

With Colourwork being the so hot right now I have included a few colourwork ideas in this weeks Knit A Long / Crochet A Long pattern suggestions.

Hats are a great way to get a taste of colourwork without committing to a huge, possibly overwhelming project.

From Norway with Love – Hat by Anna & Heidi Pickles (knit) would be perfect in our Biggan Design DK Merino. Go wild with your choices with 64 different colours to choose from.

Keep the man in your life warm this winter with
David’s Hat by Kenny Chua (knit) perhaps in our Berroco Ultra Alpaca or Cascade 220 Worsted.

Some Non-colourwork, crochet options –

Straight forward and simple, designed for the pickiest guy ever,
The Best Guy Hat Ever by Brenda K.B. Anderson (crochet) would be sure to please, especially in our Biggan Design DK Merino range.

Hazelhurst by Kate Davies (knit) was inspired by old-fashioned woven gingham. Knit in the round and then grafted to form a loop. Either our Cascade Heritage Silk or Berroco Ultra Alpaca Fine would look amazing in this gridded check.

Any two luscious colour in our Berroco Ultra Alpaca would look stunning together in a
Sonoran Cowl by Jill Zielinski. (knit)

Some Non-colourwork, crochet options –

Argo by Aoibhe Ni (crochet) would add a splash of colour to your wardrobe in our Cascade Heritage Silk.

Our Berroco Ultra Alpaca would be ideal of
Cardiff Cowl by Lion Brand (crochet).

Don’t forget to share your cast ons, wips and finished projects with us, in store or via our
Ravelry Group or Facebook Page.

On the Needles at Tangled Yarns

It was lovely to receive so many wonderful comments when our regular ‘On the Needles at Tangled Yarns’ section wasn’t in the newsletter last week.

We had such a huge week with so many deliveries I thought I would hold back the projects for this week or it would have been an information overload.

I love that you missed our sharing!

Tanya popped in to show me the most adorable little cardi she had finished for her daughter.

This is Miss Korrigan by Solenn Couix-Loarer in our Berroco Ultra Alpaca Light.

Aren’t the buttons just the perfect match!

Rachel recently finished this lovely Liesl by Ysolda Teague (knit) in our Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece.

Finished wonderfully with one of our buttons.

She is working away on a Cedar Leaf Shawlette by Alana Dakos (knit) in our Madelinetosh Pashmina.

(Sadly we are sold out of Pashmina….keep an eye out for new of our new shipments soon!)

Claudia whipped up in record time a silk Summer Flies by Donna Griffin (knit) in our Cascade Ultra Pima cotton.

She also has a Dipped Infinity Scarf by Laura Chau (knit) in her own hand dyed yarn from one of my DyeDay Workshops earlier in the year.

More hand-dyed yarn on the needles! Derrin is almost finished an Audrey in Unst by Gudrun Johnston (knit) in some beautiful electric blue that she dyed in an impromptu little dye session with me.

Another cardi Derrin has almost ready for the season is Summer’s Day by Ashley Knowlton (knit) in our squishy Madelinetosh Pashmina.

Over the weekend I finished my first winter cardi for the year – Vitamin D by Heidi Kirrmaier in our Biggan Design 4ply Merino.

I have been wearing it constantly since it dried after blocking and adore it!

I may be tempted to cast on another….

With one project off the needles I was tempted to start another – I cast on Rayures by Amy Miller in a wonderful selection of colour in our Cascade Heritage Silk.

Provisionally cast on and knit seamlessly in the round makes for nice, mindless knitting.
The slowly changing stripes are simply addictive!

Made by Megan

Sweet treats to accompany your knitting & crochet this weekend….

Pear and Pistachio Cake

Lemon & Coconut Cake
