WOOLganics has also prided themselves on using only organic, non-mulsed yarn. Unfortunately, supply of sheep that fit these criteria has become difficult, and they have decided to take a twelve month sabbatical, with hopes to have more luck next year in sourcing yarn that meet their values.
This means that we will have to say goodbye to this beautiful yarn for the next year.
Help us celebrate by snapping up the last of our WOOLganics while it is our Friday Favourite.

Our last week of men’s pattern suggestions! I couldn’t help but be inspired by some of the new yarn that has arrived this week.
During December, we will be sharing quick gift ideas which should only take a night or two to make – lots of ideas for children, friends and some stocking stuffers for neighbours and teachers.
I can see the fabulous hot pink made into Jane by Georgie Hallam for my eldest miss; perfect for spring!

We are excited to launch one of their new lines – Arroyo, which is a smooth 100% merino yarn – lightweight and show off the famous hand dyed colours of Malabrigo fabulously!

Last Sunday was our final Intermediate dyeing workshop for the year!
It was a pleasure to have many of my students from an earlier beginner dyeing workshop return for the day.
Not only did they come back for a second dyeing workshop but many of them brought back their yarn all knitted up from the first workshop.

We have started to put together our January / February 2012 calendar.
With a fresh start to the year we’d love to know what you are after for classes and workshops! It might be a project you’d like to see as a Knit-a-Long or focused workshop, it might be another time frame or even an idea for a social event.
Please email email@example.com with your ideas and we will try to work them in as much as possible.
|On the Needles at Tangled Yarns
First up are these tiny granny squares, which look so delicate in the Cotton Fine. This is being made for a North Queensland babe and will be a perfect layer for nap time.
Louise has also been dabbling with the ever popular African Flowers motif which is just stunning – I am trying not to be swayed by another blanket!
She has also finished an amazing Hexagon Blanket in our Cotton Fleece! It so beautiful and motivates me to make some time to work on my hexagon blankets.
With the leftovers from the Hexagon Blanket Louise has started a Chevron Granny Blanket by Michelle Kludas. This is such a great project for using left overs and you can’t go wrong with the colours of Cotton Fleece, they all work so well together.
One of our weekly Technical Support students, Aline has been very proficient with her needles in the past few weeks. After finishing her first Miette by Andi Satterlund she decided that shes loves it so much and cast on another one in more of our Ultra Pima.
Another one of our frequent customers – Kimley, brought in her finished Rose Red by Ysolda Teague in our Debbie Bliss Andes. Kimley had been patiently waiting all winter for our supplier to receive stock of the red colourway in the Andes and it was certainly worth the wait! Isn’t it just a match made in heaven!?
Some secret gift knitting on the go at the moment for Anita are two Hogwarts Scarves by Lauren Kent for her two little ones for Christmas. Anita is using Biggan Design DK Merino, which has the perfect Gryffindor colours (Crimson and Sunflower).
Anita has also cast on something just for her this week in our new Malabrigo Sock – Villeray by Ariane Caron-Lacoste. The lace is an easily memorisable pattern and it’s the perfect escape from the miles of stockinette.
Lauren snapped up some Ultra Pima last week which has become a cap sleeved Liesl by Ysolda Teague. This little top is perfect for putting over the top of strappy singlets without making you too warm. To combat the thinner yarn, Lauren went up a size in the pattern and it fits beautifully. Some of our new buttons are the perfect finishing touch!
The cushions were such fun to make and are the perfect splash of girly colour on their beds. The colours I used are Robin Egg Blue, Lime Light, October Leaf, Berry, Putty and Sunflower Gold.
I think I will make myself one, slightly larger for my bed….
I had such fun with my giant granny squares in the delicious colours of Noro Taiyo and the finished blankets have injected such a summery feel to the girls room.
Each blanket is made up of 12 Taiyo granny squares all joined by Cotton Fleece in Cotton Ball. (Taiyo colours 18, 17, 20 & 15)
Since this is our final newsletter for November I couldn’t resist a little Advent theme to our Christmas decorations this week.
Advent Garland by Frankie Brown
Starting on the 1st of December (next Thursday! Eeek!) 24 different ornaments will be published separately, one a day until Christmas Eve. (patterns will be published through the designer on Ravelry)
The garland is knitted in three identical sections so that it can be hung up in different ways and it has 24 buttons, all ready for the decorations.
This would make a good group project.
All of the decorations are knit in DK weight yarn making our Biggan Design DK Merino range with its 64 colours ideal!
Instead of giving you lots of individual links I have set up an Advent Ideas board on Pinterest.
