These are a few of my favourite things!

Interweave Knits

New in store this week is the Fall 2011 issue of Interweave Knits!

The Fall 2011 issue explores lacy textures for layering, shaggy-round-the-edges rustic colourwork, bold stitches in big yarns and simple, beautiful knitting.

Patterns include knits that will work for the seasonal transition – light, lacy pieces for warm days and chilly evenings plus layering pieces just right for wearing as cardigans or jackets.

Along with juicy knitting projects, techniques, fibres and designers studio’s are explored in this issue.

So sit down, flip through this issue and get inspired to make something new!

On the Needles at Tangled Yarns

With her buttons picked, Lauren has finished her Miette by Andi Satterlund!

(I love making Lauren laugh as I take photographs of her!!)

She has been wearing it all week and the Malabrigo Rios has been the perfect weight to keep these August winds at bay.

Lauren has omitted the ribbed neckline for her favourite I-cord edging and added two extra buttons after adding some extra length.

This week Alice finished off a little gift she was working on for her youngest babe.

She loved the idea of the bunting that I made for my girls bedroom back in March that she decided to cast on some of her own.

Alice has used our Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece and the same pattern, Knitted Bunting Flags by Green Mountain Mama.

These little flags would make such a sweet baby shower gift or even as a birthday party decoration!

Although I have been trying my best not to be distracted and finish my Umaro blanket I couldn’t help casting on with our new Cascade 220 Superwash Sport

I have been looking at Paulie by Isabell Kraemer for a while and was just waiting for the right yarn to arrive.

The Cascade 220 Superwash Sport is knitting up divinely and I think Paulie will make the perfect lightweight cardi for Spring.

I am a couple of inches below the sleeves and have jumped back up to do the sleeves now so that I know how much yarn I have left for the body and button bands/shawl collar.

Can’t wait for it to be finished so I can wear it…
especially with the orange stripes!

(so close with Umara, I think I only need another 3-4 repeats!)

Made by Megan

Megan has out-done herself again this week with two tempting treats…

Caramel Brownies

Mixed Berry Crumble Muffins
