Friday Favourites

I have been having the best fun this week and it has involved of all things….a washing machine! Who would have thought that throwing your knitting into a hot wash could result in something so wonderful…

Felted Coasters have flown off the hooks been bundled up ready for gifting to special people in my life.

We have also been madly knitting more leaves for our wreath, we are almost there!

Then, slightly hooked, I started to look around for more projects to pop in the wash. You can see a couple of this weeks finished projects below in our Gift A Long section.

Why not try your hand at some felting this weekend while two great yarns ideal for felting are ourFriday Favourite!

Stitches on needles and yarn on hooks
Bright cotton colours and new pattern books
Tangled Yarns bundles tied up with strings
These are a few of my favourite things!

Friday Favourite Conditions – Applies to in stock items only. No custom orders or lay-by. 10% Off does not apply to kits as they are already reduced. Special prices apply from launch of newsletter until 9am Monday.

Gift – A – Long

The countdown is on! Two weeks of gift knitting to go…there is still plenty of time to whip up some handmade happiness with these last minute gift ideas. We have included plenty of ideas this week, with something for almost everyone!

Bevy of Bangles by Mags Kandis

These silent bangles are the perfect solution to the love of big, bold bracelets but the loathings of the clang, clang, clunk that accompanies them.

These are more then a little addictive, you won’t be able to stop until you have an armful! I managed to whip up five in an afternoon from a single ball of Noro.

Infinite Ways Ballet Slipper by Dawn Gillis

Who doesn’t need something warm and soft to slip on when they get home! These were so much fun to make and just amazing how they transform from huge floppy pieces of fabric to sweet little slippers with a simple session of felting in the machine.

The pattern that I used is a crochet pattern (I like that there are no seams) but there are plenty of other knit or crochet versions –

French Press Felted Slippers by Melynda Bernardi (Knit)
Felted Crochet Slippers by Bonny Smith (Crochet)
Seamless Slippers by Lisa Gerber (Knit)

Gingerbread People by Jean Scobie-Parker

No need to feel guilty about over indulging with these little guys…the basic method for knitting these gingerbread men is simple. Beginning at the feet, you knit a rectangle, shaping at the top for a head. When the body is sewn together and stuffed, the arms and legs are defined by stitching through all layers. Add the embroidered features and trim with dark brown, white and red yarn.

KnitPro Interchangeable Crochet Hooks

We have expanded our great range of KnitPro products this week with the addition of Interchangeable Afghan / Tunisian Crochet Hooks.

These lightweight, yet strong and durable crochet hooks are not only for Tunisian crochet but also ideal for using to pick up stitches on your knitting. Think of how easy button bands would be with the crochet hook and a flexible cable!

The interchangeable hooks are 15cm in length and compatible with the standard KnitPro interchangeable cables. Available in all sizes from 3.00mm – 8.00mm.

SOAK would make a wonderful gift for anyone who knits, crochets or sews. We have topped up our supply of all fragrances – Aquae, Citrus, Flora and Sola Evening.

If you are gifting any knitwear, pop in a mini soak to help keep the garment in as new condition.
